Her story chronicled the typical journey of a Canadian immigrant - the joy of arrival, the shock of reality, the struggle with integration, the rise through a competitive career and the everyday complexity of bias - status, look, age, accent, gender, religion and what have you! Much more amazing is the discovery that even in the same immigrant family, there are different conceptions about what it means to be Canadian. Shocking!
