"When I discover who I am, I will be free." Ralph Ellison, The Invisible Man
Your sense of worth or identity as an immigrant is not tied and should not be tied to what you have or don't have, where you were born or lived or where you did not live. It should not be tied to anything that anyone can take from you including your Canadian permanent residency or citizenship. Your sense of value or worth should be anchored on the purpose that your creator had for you - whether you know what it is or not. The fact that you were born or alive means you are worthy. You are a creation of a masterpiece and that is why you have value. Until we understand this basic truth and embrace them, we won't be free to unleash our brilliance and it will affect or might even truncate our journey of integration into the Canadian society. Enjoy this masterpiece ;)
